Insurance
BUPA insured patients
BUPA patients are welcome at the Foot & Ankle Centre. Follow the steps below so that we can invoice BUPA directly for your care.
What you need to know
- It is your responsibility to inform BUPA and gain pre-authorisation prior to each consultation. The Foot & Ankle Centre cannot speak to BUPA on your behalf. If you fail to gain pre-authorisation, you will be liable for any costs incurred at the company’s self-pay fee rate.
- If BUPA fail to cover your consultation fees, The Foot & Ankle Centre will send you an invoice via email, payable within 14 days.
- While The Foot & Ankle Centre can accept self-referrals, your insurance provider may require a GP or consultant referral before you attend. Contact BUPA on 03456 090 111 or use live chat at bupa.co.uk.
- The Foot & Ankle Centre will bill BUPA UK directly on your behalf; any policy excess must be paid to the clinic.
- The Foot & Ankle Centre charges a £30 self-pay fee following each consultation to cover administrative costs, dressings or medications used. This fee covers the shortfall not included within BUPA’s contractual arrangements.
- BUPA agree consultation fees with individual podiatrists, not with The Foot & Ankle Centre. Patients are advised of the additional company fees and liability when booking.
- The Foot & Ankle Centre will bill your insurance company for each consultation on behalf of the podiatrist.
- If you have an excess payment, BUPA will contact you when it is due; the excess must be paid directly to The Foot & Ankle Centre.
- Contact BUPA if you have any doubt regarding your policy coverage prior to attending.
